Overview:
Clyde Morgan and Khalid Saleem are professors of Music and Dance at SUNY Brockport. They are the artistic directors (choreography and music) of the Sankofa African Dance & Drum Ensemble. Clyde made his professional debut as a member of the José Limon Dance Company and performed for ten years on the New York stage. He toured West and East Africa with his own dance company and, in addition to being a Fulbright Scholar, has been choreographer and artistic director of Grupo de Danca Contemporanea da Universida de Federal Da Bahia in Brazil. Clyde has recorded two CDs, Alafia Ashe and Rhythms of Life. Khalid has toured throughout the world as a member of various dance companies. He was a member of the Chuck Davis Dance Company and Music Director of the African American Drum Ensemble. Khalid is currently the Artistic Director of the Rhythms of Life Music Ensemble, music director of Sankofa and Assistant Professor of African Music and Drumming at SUNY Brockport. |
